Nargis Fakhri is in New York Because of Ill-Health, Confirms Her Rep

Actress Nargis Fakhri is out of country to address her health issues and not because of either a rumoured calling-off of a wedding with Uday Chopra or a decision to quit showbiz, the actress' spokesperson has said.

"Nargis has been extremely overworked working on three films simultaneously over the last year. For someone who is used to doing one film at a time, this was quite a bit for Nargis. In addition, she has been unwell right through the Azhar promotions with multiple injuries - torn hamstring, anterior knee ligament thinning and mild socket dislocation along with burning of the stomach lining due to lead and arsenic poisoning. Due to these multiple issues and her overall exhaustion, she had a fever of about 101 degrees right through her promotions," read an official statement by the actress' spokesperson.

Nargis' sudden disappearance, even from the promotions of her film Azhar has set the gossip mills running.

There are media reports that Nargis was all set to announce her wedding with actor-producer Uday, but it was called off. Rumours were also rife that following the rumoured breakup, she had a nervous breakdown and left the producers of all her upcoming films in a lurch.

However, the Rockstar actress' spokesperson has a different story to tell.

The representative added that it is due to Nargis' deteriorating condition that she had to request Sajid Nadiadwala - producer of her next film Housefull 3 - and "bow out of its promotions to go back home to New York for a month to address all her medical issues and recuperate".

In Azhar, Nargis plays the role of Mohammad Azharuddin's second wife Sangeeta Bijlani. Next up, she will be seen in Housefull 3 and Banjo.

"She has no plans to leave Bollywood and will be back to sets to complete the pending patchwork for her film Banjo in the second week of June. In addition, she has already verbally agreed to two other projects for 2017 before she left and will complete the paperwork when she's back. That coupled with her brand commitments that extend over multiple years, is testament of her being here to stay for good," the spokesperson added.

Confirming that Nargis left mid-way through the work for Housefull 3 due to her health, Mr Nadiadwala said: "Our priority is Nargis's health. We do hope that she recuperates fast and can be there around the release of the film as she is an integral part of Housefull 3 team."

Cannes: What Sonam Has Been Doing Ahead of Her Red Carpet Appearance

We got a glimpse of what has been keeping actress Sonam Kapoor busy days before her eagerly-awaited red carpet appearance at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. On Instagram, Sonam shared pictures from her trip to London, where she reportedly is to zero in her red carpet couture.

This will be Sonam's sixth year at the Cannes Film Festival and she will make her debut at the prestigious amfAR gala on May 19.

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been a regular at the amfAR so far, will give it a miss this year for the promotion of her upcoming movie Sarbjit. Aishwarya, whose 15th year at the Cannes it is, stopped traffic on the red carpet in an embellished ensemble by Kuwaiti designer Ali Younes.

Sonam, 30, was last seen in Neerja and has not signed any movie so far.

This is Aishwarya's 15th year of representing L'Oreal at the Cannes Film Festival. On the terrace of Hotel Martinez, post her press interactions, the L'Oreal Paris team celebrated the 15th year 'Canniversary' of Aishwarya by cutting a cake and presenting her with a bouquet of red roses.

Ash's upcoming film Sarbjit is all set to be screened tonight at the prestigious film festival. A press conference with Aishwarya has been scheduled on May 15.

Her Sarbjit co-star Richa Chadha and director Omung Kumar have left for Cannes to make it in time for the film's screening:

Meanwhile, Aishwarya will skip the amfAR gala which follows the film fest and aims to raise awareness on AIDS. Her spot will be filled by hercolleague Sonam Kapoor, who has been a Cannes regular for six years now. This will be Sonam's first amfAR Gala visit. She will walk the red carpet on May 15 and May 16.

Sarbjit, which releases in India on May 20, is an important film for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It is her second film after last year's poorly-received Jazbaa - which was the movie that marked her return after a five-year break - and the trailer of the film has generated very good press for the actress' performance.

She stars as Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh who died in a Pakistani prison. Randeep Hooda plays the titular character and Richa Chadha appears as his wife.

Cannes: What Abhishek Bachchan Thinks of Aishwarya's Red Carpet Look

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's glittering red carpet ensemble, in which she walked the red carpet at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, left her husband Abhishek Bachchan truly awestruck.

Abhishek expressed his admiration for Aishwarya on social media. Abhishek married Aishwarya in 2007.

Abhishek posted a monochrome picture of the Jazbaa actress on Instagram on Saturday and wrote:

Sunny Leone Denies Putting No-Kissing Clause in Film Contracts

Actress Sunny Leone has denied reports that she put a no-kissing clause in her film contracts.

Denying any such self-censorship on her onscreen activities, Sunny said: "This is not true in any form. I am not sure who made this lie up."

On her birthday, Sunny shared an intimate moment that she captured on camera with her husband Daniel Weber and captioned it: "Who said I don't kiss on camera?! Hehe Daniel Weber."

As for kissing, Sunny has not said no to it. But she won't do a liplock just for the sake of it.

Sunny was last seen in One Night Stand and her upcoming film is Tina And Lolo.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Wins Cannes Red Carpet in Gold Lace

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won the Cannes red carpet a second day in a row, wearing a gold lace gown with an embellished bodice by Elie Saab.

Aishwarya's second film after her five-year break, Sarbjit, is being screened at the festival on Saturday. Director Omung Kumar and co-star Richa Chadha are also attending. Ash was last seen in Sanjay Gupta's poorly-received Jazbaa but the trailer of Sarbjit has generated praise for the 42-year-old actress' performance.

The film is based on Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh who died in a Pakistani prison. The titular role is played by actor Randeep Hooda, who skipped Cannes. Richa plays his wife while Aishwarya will be seen as his sister Dalbir Kaur, who campaigned for decades to have her brother released.

This is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 15th year at the Cannes Film Festival, where she represents L'Oreal Paris. On Saturday afternoon, Team L'Oreal celebrated Ash's 'Canniversary' with a cake and a bouquet of red roses on the terrace of Hotel Martinez.
